WWE news: Roman Reigns addresses controversial Greatest Royal Rumble loss to Brock Lesnar

ROMAN REIGNS insists he is the real Universal Champion after the controversial finish of his Greatest Royal Rumble match against Brock Lesnar.

Reigns and Lesnar faced off in a Steel Cage Match at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Big Dog speared the UFC legend through the cage and even though his feet touched the floor first the title did not change hands.

The referee Chad Patton admitted he made a mistake but the real story behind the finish is blurry.

Reigns addressed the controversy on RAW and claims he kept his word that he would beat Lesnar at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

The three-time world champion said: “You’ve seen the footage. You saw the tweet from the referee himself. So that means you’re looking at the real Universal Champion.

“But the fact is I am a man of my word, and I kept my word.

“And I would tell that to Brock Lesnar right now but we all know he’s not here.”

Reigns, who got booed once more by a loud Montreal crowd, is now focused on his match against Samoa Joe at Backlash.

He teamed up with Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman on RAW where they beat Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
